Who: Professional photographers, hobbyists and artists. Not teachers. The Artistry Retreat webinar is for all levels of Corel Painter users, from beginners to experienced. Karen Sperling has been writing about and teaching Painter longer than anyone (she wrote the first several Painter manuals!) and whether you have never opened Painter or have studied it before, you’re sure to find new and useful information in the Artistry Retreat webinar.
What: Live, webinar-style workshop for learning the art lessons and Corel Painter steps for turning photos of people, pets and landscapes into paintings taught by Elite Corel Painter Master Karen Sperling, based on the
in-person Artistry Retreat. This webinar is compatible with Painter versions 12 and later, including the brand-new Corel Painter 2022!
Where: Your computer. The Artistry Retreat webinar will be live and will be recorded in progress. Attendees will have access to both the live class, where you can ask questions, and the recording, to review the information in the class. The recording will only be available to those who sign up before the webinar starts. After then, the Artistry Retreat webinar will go away and the recording will only be available to those who enrolled in advance.
When: Tuesday-Friday, September 11-14, 2018, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific time (4 hours each day for the equivalent of 2 full 8-hour days so that the live webinar is convenient for all U.S. time zones. International attendees are welcome, as well).
Why: The Artistry Retreat is for you if you are a professional photographer who would like to sell paintings based on your photos to your clients or if you are a hobbyist who is interested in turning your photos of your children, grandchildren and travels into paintings. The Artistry Retreat is not for teachers.
How: Hands-on art lessons and Corel Painter instruction. You will follow along with the instructions step-by-step and you will be able to ask questions through the webinar chat window.
Artistry Retreat Webinar Description
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could attend the Artistry Retreat without leaving home?
Well now you can!
For the first time ever, Elite Corel Painter Master Karen Sperling is offering a live, webinar-style Artistry Retreat online!
Like the in-person Artistry Retreat, the webinar will cover the art lessons and Corel Painter steps for turning photos of people, pets and landscapes into paintings in Corel Painter. You will see step-by-step workflow from start to finish, in addition to studying the art theories and Corel Painter tools used in the process. You will have the source photos and written instructions so that you may follow along in real time during the live webinar. And, as in the in-person Artistry Retreat, webinar attendees will have the chance to ask questions that come up as you apply the steps yourself.
The Artistry Retreat webinar won’t be exactly the same as attending in person. You won’t be rubbing elbows with the teacher and fellow class members and you won’t be learning the traditional acrylics and oil-painting techniques on the canvas after the artwork is printed.
But, as with the in-person class, you will get an intensive jumpstart on turning photos into paintings in Corel Painter that you will be able to use as the basis for all your ongoing learning.
Professional photographers who have attended the in-person Artistry Retreats report being able to paint client paintings as soon as they get back to their studios! It isn’t possible to guarantee you will be able to sell paintings right away as everyone is different, but you will have the tools to do so and will have the potential to paint right away. Certainly with practice and continued study, you will continue to improve.
Artistry Retreat webinar attendees will have the bonus advantage over in-person class members of being able to listen to a recording of the webinar! And the Artistry Retreat webinar is more affordable because you pay no travel expenses.
All in all, the Artistry Retreat webinar is the next best thing to being there!

Karen Sperling is a Great Teacher!
This painting is due to you.
Your recent Artistry Retreat webinar “clicked” for me, and I feel that I am finally able to use Painter creatively.
You are a great teacher!
Thank you for offering that webinar. I know you debated about using the online venue for sharing your talents, but I for one found it very, very helpful. I have viewed several of the videos again to refresh my mind as I practiced.
It is fair to say that your approach and instructional abilities simplified the process for me and allowed me to have my “aha moment” with Painter.
I am deeply appreciative of what you did for me.

The recorded webinar is excellent, Karen. I only caught part of it during the actual recording. I just signed up for the 4-day webinar in May.
Thanks for doing that.
The webinar approach will reach tons more folks, I believe, and generate lots more excitement for the great education and information you provide.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn from you in this way.
