Paintings by Karen Sperling based on her own still life and garden photos, created using the techniques taught in this class and covered step-by-step in the class videos.

Flowers have been a favorite subject of artists through the centuries. In this class, you will learn the art theories and Corel Painter steps for turning garden and still life flower photos into paintings in Corel Painter.

This class is designed for Painter users who want to develop a more impressionistic approach to painting flowers based on photos.

Studying the techniques of great master artists is a great way to develop your own painting skill, knowledge and style, not to copy the greats, but to learn from them.

In this self-paced online class, you learn the art theories and Painter steps for painting in the style of such artists as Monet, Renoir and Cassatt from Elite Corel Painter Master Karen Sperling.

Class videos cover topics like:

• How to choose colors
• How to set up a photo to turn it into a painting
• Which brushes to use, including special custom brushes created by Karen Sperling included with the class
• Using Painter's unique and powerful Auto-Painting tool
• Painting still life flowers and leaves
• Painting garden flowers and leaves
• Painting flower backgrounds

The focus is on developing painterly interpretation rather than copying a photo, using color, brushwork and composition to create expressive floral paintings.

The class includes Karen’s custom brushes, created specifically to support the techniques demonstrated in the videos.

You can move through the lessons at your own pace and revisit them as often as you like.
