I read the Henry Asencio tutorial in the January 2005 Artistry Tips and Tricks and looked at his web site.. as well as your previous hints.. I am so full of ideas I don't know exactly which one is which. But I did begin this painting the day after I got the January 2005 Artistry Tips and Tricks.
I used a combination of techniques.. In this there was some artist brush and soft cloning, there was also some straight drawing as the original photo did not have the detail I chose to add. I did combine several "media" including colored pencil. I am attaching the original photo so you can see where I took it... .
She is a beautiful woman, my niece, and the dramatic lighting was already there.
