Hal Kreisel

Swannanoa, NC-based artist Hal Kreisel's latest painting in Painter, "See B'loon," is of his grandson, Duncan, based on a photo taken in Las Vegas.

Hal enjoys painting portraits in Painter so much that he has taken it to the next step and created a web site to offer "Paintered" paintings at http://www.portraitsbycomputer.com

"Painter is a joy to use," Hal says. "I haven't yet, and probably never will, come anywhere near to knowing all the things that can be done with Painter, but, for my purposes (painting "action" portraits), it's perfect."

And attending an Artistry Painting for Photographers Retreat gave Hal new insights into using Painter's extensive toolset.

"Over the last 10 years, I've attended several art classes covering drawing and painting skills as well as color, composition, focal points, etc. Karen Sperling's presentation on color, composition, and focal points was 'right on' and accomplished in short order what other instructors labored over, rather ineffectively, for hours. Good show. Karen Sperling's presentation on using Painter was informative, thorough and easily comprehensible.
