Lance PecchiaEncinitas, CA-based artist Lance Pecchia is a mural and trompe l'oeil artist who is interested in moving off the wall and onto the computer to paint portraits for clients. He attended an Artistry Painting for Photographers Retreat last year and reports, "I am still moving ahead with using Painter and, of course, progress is slower than I would like due to time constraints." Lance took this photo of his friend, Steve, a graphic artist who Lance is trying to get interested in turning photographs into paintings in Painter. "Painter is a wonderful program," says Lance. "The brushes are very realistic and the ability to easily clone from an original image is a really useful tool. I practice with Photoshop and Painter as often as I can." Lance enjoyed the Artistry Painting for Photographers Retreat he attended as a good foundation for his own Painter paintings. "The Artistry Painting for Photographers Retreat provided me with the background and inspiration to strive to create paintings from photographs," Lance says. "I enjoy using Painter very much--I always look forward to using those fantastic brushes." Lance's next step will be to turn his Painter pursuits from an avocation into a vocation. "I hope to make a little $ with it soon," Lance says. Thanks a bunch,Lance Pecchia gremmie@adelphia.net | ![]() ![]() ![]() Photo and painting in Corel Painter by Lance Pecchia |
