Loves Artistry Tips and Tricks

Dear Karen,

I love your Artistry Tips and Tricks tutorials and have purchased a few of the back issues.

They are so much more helpful than most of the manuals or other tutorial books that I've read.

Your tips, suggestions, and other information are provided in a no-nonsense way that can be understood and applied at once.

I know a lot of hard work must go into these tips, and I really appreciate all your time and effort on behalf of those of us who are aspiring artists.

I'm so glad that you liked my portrait. A friend of mine asked me to use Photoshop to touch up some digital shots of her daughter's wedding.

In one of the shots I spied the little flower girl in front of the bridesmaids.

She looked so pensive......I thought it would make a good subject--in Painter.

Yes, you may use my image and this email in your newsletter and on your web site. I am really honored that you would want to do so.

Best regards, and thanks again,

Lorranna Allen

Artistry Tips and Tricks CDs Provide Painting Education

Dear Karen,

I have been reading everything that I can find to help me learn and
work with Painter X.

I found exactly what I was looking for after
purchasing all the CD's of Artistry Tips and Tricks.

Each month's lessons are clear, concise, and quite easy to follow.

They have given me an education in painting, which has helped me
tremendously since I have not had any formal art education.

The instructions have me using features of Painter that I would not
have found with my experimenting except by accident.

I certainly look forward to my monthly editions of Artistry Tips and Tricks.

Kind regards,
Jack Milchanowski

Artistry Beginners tutorials

The Artistry Beginners tutorials give you a quick start for using Painter to turn photos into paintings.

Included are a road map of the interface, a list with demonstrations of the most frequently used brushes and some step-by-step tutorials for using the cloning tools.

There's also some art theory, but the main idea of the Artistry Beginners tutorials is to get you up and running in Painter.

Artistry Painting for Photographers

The Artistry Painting for Photographers tutorials continue to show you around Painter's tools, including using layers when turning photos into paintings.

The step-by-step written instructions cover both portraits and landscapes and give you a firm foundation for not just painting in Painter, but also for setting up the photo in advance of painting.

Artistry Tips and Tricks

Artistry Tips and Tricks has been published since October 2004. The first 3 1/2 years of issues are collected on these CDs, with six months of issues per CD.

Artistry Tips and Tricks issues cover more examples of how to turn photos into paintings, including portraits and landscapes. The tutorials go over various styles of paintings, from pastels to watercolors to oils, and show you how to paint in the styles of many artists, from Hopper to Warhol to Rembrandt to the Impressionists.

The Artistry Tips and Tricks issues also include art concepts that are taught in art classes, such as how to choose colors; how to determine tones and why they're important; what makes a painting a painting and not a photo with brush strokes; and how to enhance your paintings based on traditional art concepts.
