Schedule: Artistry Retreats The Artistry Painting for Photographers Retreat Taught by Karen Sperling, the original Painter expert Learn to turn photos into paintings in Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop from Karen Sperling, who wrote the original Painter manuals and the bestseller Painting for Photographers, and who has been writing about and teaching Painter longer than anyone. The Artistry Retreat begins with the art lessons you need to know to make decisions like which photos make good candidates to be turned into paintings and how to choose color schemes. Then the Artistry Retreat offers step-by-step instruction for painting portraits and landscapes from photos in popular styles including oils, watercolors and pastels. Students say that the biggest benefits of attending the Artistry Retreats are watching Karen Sperling's unique painting techniques and receiving her easy-to-understand, constructive feedback, guidance and techniques during the hands-on step-by-step painting lessons. The Artistry Retreats are hands-on workshops. Bring your laptop with Painter X or 11 and Photoshop CS3 or CS4 or CS5 (after mid-May 2010) loaded.
