Two sections are available in March 2009 to fit into your schedule: One during the week and one on a weekend--attend the one that works the best for you!

Topic: Painting Portraits from photos in Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop

Karen Sperling, who wrote the original Painter manuals, and who has been writing about and teaching Painter longer than anyone, will teach you to paint portraits from photos in Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop.

The class will cover art concepts like how to tell if a photo is a good candidate to be turned into a painting and how to choose colors.

It will also include hands-on step-by-step instruction on your laptop for turning photos into portraits.

Here are some examples of the kinds of things you will learn to do in the Artistry Artistry Road Trip Salons. These are just examples. There isn't time in 2 days to cover them all!

These videos are demos by Karen Sperling showing painting techniques in Corel Painter. In the Artistry Road Trips Salons you'll find out how to do this kind of painting, including which Painter program features and brushes to use.

Future Artistry Road Trip Salons

Location: Your studio!

Dates: When you set it up!

Original Painter expert Karen Sperling will travel to your place and teach a class for turning photos into paintings in Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop.

All you have to do is host the class and sign the people up!

Host requirements: Minimum of 8 paid participants per class. A location to accommodate 8-15 or so (or more?) people seated at tables or a big conference table. A projector. All the students bring their own laptops to work on.

The Artistry Road Trip Salon is custom-tailored to your group.

You can have an all-portraits class, or all-landscapes, or portraits and landscapes, based on the interests of your group.

It can be painting photos in Painter or in Photoshop or in both.

The classes will include the art lessons you need to know to paint your photos like how to know if a photo is a good candidate to turn into a painting and how to choose colors.
