Here's what everyone's saying about Artistry tutorials

Painter inventor Mark Zimmer gives new Artistry Painting for Photographers Tutorial CD Rave Review
Photography was always, to me, a creative art. The same qualities that draw your
eye to a Vermeer are also constantly borne in the mind of the great photographers:
composition, points of attention, color balance, the eternal struggle between light and darkness.

Karen Sperling's new work, the Artistry Painting for Photographers Tutorial CD, details clearly and
directly how you, the photographer, can use your skills to transcend the plane of the photograph and
enter the pleasing, non-photorealistic world of paintings. For instance, an oil painting of a posed
wedding scene might be just what the client is looking for!

Artistry Painting for Photographers CD a Timesaver
Launching Painter for the first time can be a daunting experience, so thank goodness I invested in
Karen Sperling's Artistry Painting for Photographers CD - it has saved me so much time
getting past the basics and Karen's friendly conversational style text makes learning so much
easier than the usual dull manuals!
In the tutorial about painting portraits from photographs, the information and illustrations
on identifying simple shapes within any composition will be a revelation to those who missed
formal art training - thank you Karen!

Easy to Understand and Informative Step by Step Instructions and Images
Karen Sperling's "Artistry Painting for Photographers" tutorial CD is one of the best lessons
you will find for using the Painter program.
Her step by step instructions and images are easy to understand and informative, whether you're a
beginner or an advanced user.
The techniques can also be used in other Painter applications as well.
Hats off to you Karen!

Artistry Tutorial Well Organized
Karen,
You keep surprising me! Your recent artwork is much better than you've ever given yourself any credit for.
The Alex tutorial on the Artistry Painting for Photographers CD is beautifully organized... almost
a painting lesson in its own right, Painter or not. Cogent, economical, easy to understand.

Artistry Beginners Tutorials Delightfully Ease Painter Learning Progress
Hi everyone,
This is for artists like me who have tried to work with Painter and found it a
frustrating experience.
Consequently for a couple of years I would start periodically and then give up when
it got too hard.
Having worked with Photoshop for years I bought two Artistry CD's that Karen
sells on her website as I liked the exceptional art demo'd there. Then I realized
I needed to learn the basics first.
So I recently got her beginners CD and am delighted at the ease with which I am
progressing!
Thanks Karen, this is finally going to get me to "get" Painter!

Artistry Painting for Photographers CD Intelligent and Inspiring

Hi Karen,

I just received the Artistry Painting for Photographers Tutorials CD and spent already
a good while at it.
It's intelligent and inspiring; and a good idea is the additional and separate folder for the picts.
Also helpful: your hints how to rediscover older brushes with their own particular merits.
I can only recommend it.
All the best,

Photographer Adds Painting for Photographers to his Artistry Collection
Dear Ms. Sperling,
Please find my check enclosed to cover the cost of the Artistry Painting for Photographers Tutorials CD.
Thank you for the great tutorial material. I have all of your other CD's and find them to be an
invaluable source of reference. Keep up the good work.
I've just launched my studio and utilize Painter to create some of my visuals. Along with
providing digital photography, graphic design and brochure design, I also offer branding services and
website design.
For a one person shop, it's a little much to take on, but I'm looking forward to the challenges and
opportunities that will promote the studio's growth.
Thank you for the great material.
Respectfully,
Gary D. James
Karen Sperling is a Great Teacher
I have had Painter 6 for a year and have had a difficult time understanding it, so I was looking for help.
Several weeks ago, I ordered and received 5 of your Artistry CD's. In reviewing the tutorials,
I realized that you have an orderly way of explaining the workings of the program. Through Amazon, I
was able to get all of your books on Painter. I still have hours of reading ahead, but I am finally using
the program. You are a great teacher! Thank you!

Artistry CD's Filled to the Brim with Information
Hi Karen,
I have got to thank you again for the three Artistry CD's.
They are so informative, and I go back to them time and time again.
The first time you open one of the CD's it is quite amazing!! They are full to the brim with every
bit of information you could want to know about Painter. As well as being clear and easy to follow,
they are full of real artists' work, and because of this, I have felt confident enough to illustrate my
next children's book (which will be the 26th) entirely in Painter; Confident that what I see on my monitor
will be reproduced in the final printed book, which results in a happy publisher and a very happy me.
And that is all down to you, Karen.
You have been so helpful it's been a pleasure doing business with you. It is just great to be able to find
someone who really understands the software and who explains it so clearly.
And I hope you will be starting your magazine again as I will definitely want to subscribe.
Thank you again.
Kind regards,
Debora Burr

Artistry Deluxe CD: THE Way to Learn Painter

I'm reviewing Karen Sperling's Artistry CD's for The Internet Eye Magazine and
I have been absolutely stunned at the AMOUNT of information on the CD's.
You want to learn Painter folks, this is the way, hands down. I think you'd be hard pressed
to find something that *isn't* covered, and covered well.
The instructions are concise, the layout is wonderful, the images are crisp and clear. With the Artistry CD,
not only are you getting excellent articles that are wonderfully written and a wealth of information,
there is also a folder with all of the images from the articles contained within it should you wish to peruse
them separately. On the Deluxe CD is everything anyone could ever want to know about using the tools
Painter has well and to one's advantage.
Needless to say my review for the magazine will be glowing, not because Karen is a nice person
(which she is), but because what she has compiled here in the Deluxe CD has got to be the definitive
compendium on Painter.
Do not walk, run, fly to http://www.artistrymag.com and get the Deluxe CD. If I sound like a walking,
talking advert maybe it's because this is the first time in a *long* time that I have found how-to
tutorials regarding software I have that far and away exceeds their asking price.

Subject: Public repudiation of my ignorance
I'm a sorry old hangover from the past, I admit it. The fact is that I've long favored the printed page
over CD manuals, and have wrangled with some software companies over this trend.
BUT ---Having just cracked the Artistry Deluxe CD, I may have to revise my thinking. This thing is
amazing. I understand now Karen Sperling's reasoning in thinking about taking Artistry (which I love on paper)
to CD.
The index is, in itself, wonderful, as Ms. Sperling takes advantage of the .pdf format to allow you to click
your way through 17 issues to the very subject you need. What a monumental piece of work.
I recommend the Artistry Deluxe CD highly, thoroughly, vocally, enthusiastically, obnoxiously,
metaphorically, lasciviously, and insert your fave adjective here _____. Most of us know from her
books that Karen is a helluva writer, with a particular gift for making the difficult seem comprehensible.
This gift obviously extends to organizational ability, as her Artistry Deluxe CD is an exhaustive,
invigorating roadmap to new ideas, inspirations, methods, tricks, and ways of thinking about this
rather large chunk of real estate called Painter. So I am now forced to rethink my abhorrence of
CD manuals. Public thanks to Karen Sperling for continuing to be that rare, wonderful combination of
creative consultant and conscientious educator. This thing is a bargain. Usual disclaimers apply.
I just had to tell somebody. Buy the doggone thing.

Artistry Deluxe CD a Valuable Resource
I very quickly received the Artistry Deluxe CD that I ordered! Thank you. Your talents in electronic
publishing are very impressive.
Viewing the contents of the CD, I feel as though I have opened a treasure chest of great
ideas regarding Painter's many and varied features. It seems to me that there is a
difference between a mere familiarity with the functions of the tools at one's disposal, and the
inventive, ingeniously creative ways in which those tools can be used. The Artistry Deluxe CD
seems FILLED with the latter!
I am SO happy to have obtained such a valuable resource.

Painter inventor Mark Zimmer gives Artistry CD's "thumbs up."
The Artistry Painter Tutorials CD is a real eye-opener for artists who are
familiar with Photoshop, but need to fully express their style in the new digital medium.
Loaded with inspiring examples from real-world artists, it's a veritable roadmap for the
new digital domain of art.

Some Reviews of Artistry Magazine
Publicaion of Artistry Magazine was suspended, unfortunately. But many of the tutorials on
the Artistry CD's first appeared in Artistry Magazine. The following reviews still apply to the Artistry CD's.
The Good Stuff . . .
Karen,
Your publication [Artistry] is where you pick up the good stuff, and have it served up nice and easy
so ya don't have to struggle for it. Keep it up.

Artistry Looks Great

Pondered Artistry Articles Through the Night
Dear Karen:
You have done a great job with Artistry. I stayed up all night pondering the articles. It's so strange
to think there are actually a set of people doing the same type of work I am. Feels as though I went
to the mirror and saw a group instead of just me.
I have had two shows in Sri Lanka the last two years sell out entirely with my Painter work. Painter
is also the foundation of all of the children's software (my company) Persimmon Software sells.

Talented People . . .
Hi Karen,
I think my subscription to Artistry is about up. I want to renew for another year. I like Artistry,
you've done a good job with it. You use talented people and you make it easy to learn how they do it.

From Rural northern England . . .
Hi!
Just a note to say that I received the first two issues of Artistry today. That's what I call service,
all the way from America to rural northern England within a week of asking. They look extremely
interesting and I've already pored over them.
Keep up the good work.
Best wishes,
Jonathan Baldwin
Artistry is Indispensable
For those lurkers who don't know Karen, she is the author of several books, including excellent ones
for various versions of Painter. She also is the author of ARTISTRY, the indispensable "newsletter"
(not doing justice to the full-color beauty of it IMO) for Painter users, of both Mac and Win
persuasions...GET IT!!!
