Artistry Tips and Tricks

Artistry Tips and Tricks is a monthly e-zine in Acrobat format for photographers containing written step-by-step instructions and interim images for turning photos into paintings in Corel Painter.

Starting with the June 2008 issue, the issues will also contain tutorials for turning photos into paintings in Adobe Photoshop in addition to Corel Painter.

Artistry Tips and Tricks also has art lessons like what makes a photo a good candidate to be turned into a painting and how to choose colors.

You can either subscribe to Artistry Tips and Tricks and get the current and future issues, or you can order back issues either as downloadable files or on CDs.

Karen Sperling is teaching a class at Studio Arts in Glendale, CA for motion picture and television professionals, but anyone is welcome. Unlike the Artistry Retreats, where the emphasis is turning photos into paintings for photographers, the class at Studio Arts is aimed more at creating paintings "from scratch" for artists.
