Following the popularity and success of the Artistry Bonus CD Volume 1, Karen Sperling has released an Artistry Bonus CD Volume 2.

The Artistry Bonus CD Volume 2 was created as a result of the new Painting for Photographers DVD Volume 2: Landscapes.

"I got up to creating the movie showing how to paint a landscape from a photo in Corel Painter and explaining how to locate the custom brushes I created to paint this painting, and I wound up creating more brushes," explains Painter Master Karen Sperling, who wrote the manuals for the first several versions of Corel Painter when the program debuted 20 years ago.

Examples of Brushes

The 60 brushes on the Artistry Bonus CD Volume 2 are designed to give you great-looking designs for your landscapes and portrait brackgrounds while still being easy to use.

The only adjustment they need is size, which will change depending on the look you seek and the task at hand.

Instructions for installing and using the brushes are included, but really, you just choose them and use them! They're designed to be easy to use to get great results!

To install the brushes in Painter:
Shut down Painter, open the zip file and put the .jpg file and folders in the following location, depending on your operating system.
When you move the file and folder inside the Painter Brushes folder, the brush will become a part of the current library in the Brush Selector.

Mac
Users -> [User Name] -> Library -> Application Support -> Corel -> Painter (X or 11) -> [Workspace Name or Default] -> Brushes ->Painter Brushes

Windows
Documents and Settings -> [User Name] -> Application Data -> Corel -> Painter (X or 11) -> [Workspace Name or Default -> Brushes ->Painter Brushes

Windows Vista
Users -> [User Name] -> AppData -> Roaming -> Corel -> Painter (X or 11) -> [Workspace Name] -> Brushes ->Painter Brushes

Then, when you launch Painter, you should see a Brush Category called KarenSperlingSample and inside there are two variants, Formation01 and TexturizedBlender06.

Use Formation01 to paint the grass tips that you see in the landscape image above. Use TexturizedBlender06 to blend the bottoms of the grass brushstrokes.

Notice that when you paint, the brushes deposit multiple strokes, which speeds up painting. All of the 50+ brushes on the Artistry Bonus CD Volume 2 are like this and make painting fun and fast.

You'll be amazed at how quickly you can get these great results that you see in the images on this page. The key is not just having these quick, multiple-stroke brushes, but also the art lessons provided on the Painting for Photographers DVD Volume 2: Landscapes.
